Cape Cod Voice

For more than three years, the Cape Cod Center for Sustainability has been working with The Cape Cod Voice to develop an advertising strategy to help sustain local organizations. As a part of that strategy, in each issue, we supplemented the costs of advertisements promoting nonprofit organizations and events. The staff of the Voice attended to the graphics, wording and layout of these ads, and the paper selected a new nonprofit organization to appear each issue. Each ad was of a substantial size, usually two editorial columns wide by four inches deep. The Voice blended these ads into the layout of the paper.
The Center for Sustainability has been very pleased with the results. Approximately 75 nonprofits have been highlighted in this fashion. We've heard anecdotally that the benefits realized by the nonprofits so promoted have been substantial.
Now we are building on this effort. We are excited about the paper's plans to promote nonprofits on its expanded website, with direct electronic links to nonprofit homepages. It's a venture that offers intriguing and wide-ranging possibilities for the Cape's nonprofit community.
